Before casting runes, first decide why you are consulting them. The issue of concern must be clearly in your thoughts. You are focusing the runes to your concern so do not refocus your mind in the middle of the casting, or the results may be scattered and incomplete. After the runes are drawn you need to listen to your inner Self, but the focus is no longer needed.
Runes will not answer specific questions. They will not give a yes or no answer. Runes will not make decisions for you. They act as a guide, showing you possibilities and underlying reasons. Because of this, present issues and concerns rather than specific questions. Don't expect the runes to tell you what to do. Only you can do that. Instead, ask what you need to know about this or that issue, then you can make your own decisions.
When reading a rune interpretation, not all of what's written will apply to your specific issue. Deciding what does apply is an art, just as all magic is an art. With practice, you will learn to listen to your intuition. Certain phrases will stand out and others will not be noticed. That is your higher Self (or a Divine Being) guiding you. At first, it will be difficult to keep your personal opinions out of the reading (for that is just what they are, your opinions.) but if you listen to the previously mentioned guides it will become easy.
